In addition, they last for a very long time and don’t put out any pollution. Because they are so efficient and good for the environment, they have a massive appeal. Solar also came about at just the right time, and the more popular they have become, prices become more affordable.
While there are many benefits, there are still some flaws that have yet to be worked out. For example, some think that solar won’t last because they are limited to sunny days and have no way of storing energy to be used for later. That’s where they’re wrong. Tesla has already developed a solar battery to store some of your sunshine for a rainy day, and other companies are quickly catching up.
Not only is the technology advancing, but state government and other powerful organizations are voicing their support for solar. Some states have even begun passing legislation to make solar panels a required feature on new homes. Your state could be next and that means big changes in your home.
What does this mean for home and Tech?
This could mean big shifts in how we build new homes and the way we interact and live in those spaces. If solar panels become part of an original build or that could increase mortgage prices significantly. On the flip side, especially for renters, solar could eliminate utility bills and save lots of money for big city populations.
But aside from prices and economics, how does this change the way we live in our homes? Not having to rely on big power companies could mean self-sufficient homes in new parts of the world. Or with energy stored year-round, we might have the freedom to power a lot more devices and accessories like more personalized smart homes or upcoming mobile bots that help with daily up-keep. This could be the beginning of a whole new lifestyle in the chapters of human history.
