ActiveOps, leader in digital operations management solutions for global enterprises, today announced the appointment of Sean Finnan as the new Chairman of the company.
The appointment, effective immediately, follows the retirement of John O’Connell who has chaired the business since the investment by Calculus Capital in 2014. Sean moves from being Non-Executive Director and chair of ActiveOps remuneration committee, roles he will now relinquish.
Sean has over 30 years’ experience working in some of the world’s leading international organisations, primarily focused on technology and outsourcing. His varied career includes a long period at EDS, serving in a number of Board, Executive and Senior Management roles both in the UK and internationally.
His tenure at EDS was marked notably by its acquisition by HP. At the time he was Managing Director and Chairman of EDS UK as well as Global Head of CRM reporting to the CEO.
Prior to joining ActiveOps as a Non-Executive Director Sean’s role was GM and VP Strategic Outsourcing for Europe at IBM, heading up the $7bn business for the leading technology services provider.
Sean Finnan, Chairman, ActiveOps, stated: “I am delighted to have been appointed Chairman of ActiveOps, a business I first came across when I was working at EDS. I have been a long-time admirer of the business with first-hand experience of its solutions and its transformative impact on businesses and organisations alike.
“ActiveOps is growing rapidly and on a truly global scale, with expansion not only in our well-established markets in UK, South Africa and Asia Pacific, but now most rapidly in the US. With this scale of opportunity – either directly or through our strategic partners – my focus will be on supporting the Executive Team as they continue the implementation of their exciting strategic plans.”
Richard Jeffery, Group CEO, ActiveOps, added: “On behalf of our Board of Directors, we welcome Sean’s appointment as Chairman. His extensive senior executive and board experience in the technology and outsourcing sectors has already been of huge value to the business. His detailed insight into the business and its solutions will help us continue to drive to drive the business forward.
“I would also like to thank our Founding Chairman John O’Connell for his contribution to the company. During his tenure, our recurrent revenue has increased fivefold, we have acquired and integrated two businesses and established a major US based division, alongside maintaining the style, integrity and values that makes ActiveOps a company people want to work with and for.”
